Use the above right search window to Identify valuable US coins.

Benefits of collecting rare US coins

1. Investment grade coins historically protect wealth, for instance, as a firewall against the effects of inflation, especially in countries whose fiat currency is trading down. When the value of fiat currency is losing value, rare US coins can preserve net wealth much like how an allocation of cash in silver bullion functions.

2. In addition to the 'stored value' Advantage noted here, there is potential for wealth growth over time. In a similar manner to other hard assets, for example: bullion; property; antique print advertisements; rare brandname products, for instance, Coco-Cola, Disneyana, and other collectibles, the stored value of collectible coins rises over time.

3. Investment class coins are a liquid asset. There is a vibrant market for coin trading. This amounts to two benefits. Investment class coins are simple to buy and equally simple to trade. This is achieved via convential coin dealers or in a more self directed manner using the internet, for example eBay.

4. Rare coins are ideal for smaller investors or hobby collectors. Why? A collector or investor may buy coins in smaller quantities when funds are available.

5. Other benefits include the satisfaction the collector experiences with ownership of rare or collectible, like other types of art work. Rare coins are also a very private form of investment, and not subject to government scrutiny more common with other types of investment classes.

6. Rare coins can be stored easily and with appropriate storage, do not erode. These kind of assets are insurable. Collectible coins are also a type of portable wealth transportable very quickly and easily.
